Junior Graphic Designer

JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Junior Graphic Designer
Office: Houston, Texas
Reports to: Marketing Manager/Senior Graphic Designer
Position Responsibilities
Supports Marketing Manager/Senior Graphic Designer in the creation and production
of graphic design and creative services projects at Morton Auctioneers & Appraisers.
Position responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Graphic Design
Designing, developing and/or revising marketing materials, such as brochures,
newsletters, advertisements, handouts, ads, client presentations, logos, posters,
catalogues, invitations, web images, etc., altering or repairing graphic elements as
necessary and/or place or convert graphic elements into correct formats/programs;
Creating and/or manipulating graphic elements (photos, logos, themes, etc.) for use in
client-facing and internal marketing communications efforts.
Other duties
Handling various special requests related to graphic design services on an as
assigned/as needed basis.
Position Requirements
Education: Experience: Bachelor’s degree, with graphic design major, or other
significant experience.
Experience: Minimum 1-2 years experience, or equivalent, in a professional services
environment, with graphic design as a primary responsibility.
Basic skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to design and
communicate clearly for a variety of media. Excellent organizational skills and ability to
handle multiple priorities simultaneously. Ability to exercise good business judgment
and diplomacy in complex situations.
Special skills: Must be self-motivated and independent and able to work well with
others.
Knowledge of following computer programs/software required, without exception:
• MAC/PC
• Microsoft Windows
• Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint)
• Adobe Creative Suite CS 5.5
Additionally, knowledge and experience with print and video production process
is required.
Willingness to be flexible, including working overtime, and performing
responsibilities not specifically identified in the job description and assuming
new responsibilities as the Department’s needs change.
